InfoBar - v0.01 - 07 November 1991
This is a small utility I wrote to replace the previous utility of this
type that I wrote, which crapped out under 2.04 (long story). It doesn't
require 2.04, but it'll look ugly as hell without it. It's basically just
a bar on your Workbench screen telling you a few things about your system.
If you need your Workbench title bar (it doesn't cover the whole thing, so
you can still screendrag, but it will cover any text), don't use this. If
you don't use an 8-point font, don't use this. If you have more than a
gigabyte of chip RAM or total RAM, don't use this. If you don't have an
Amiga, don't use this. And go buy one.
InfoBar fully detaches from the CLI/Shell, so there's no need to RUN or
RUNBACK it. In fact, it probably better if you don't. Although it's no
big deal if you do.
InfoBar is not aggressive about updating itself, so as not to hog CPU
time. It only updates every second (memory) or two (clock).
InfoBar takes no options, if you don't like the way it's set up, well,
the source code is included, so you're only limited by your imagination
(and skill). The source is uncommented (as is all of my source, I know, a
horrible habit) but fairly straightforward, so you shouldn't have any
problems, unless of course you don't know C, in which case you're on your
own. It's compiled with SAS/C v5.10b.
InfoBar has been placed in the public domain, do with it what you will.
If you need to get in touch with me, try calling my name out loud three
times. If that doesn't work, you're out of luck. Sorry.
